The Pink Flame: Awakening Divine Love

Love as Divine Power
In the universal sense, love is the divine power of attraction in creation that harmonizes, unites, and binds together. It is not merely an emotion — it is the fundamental force drawing all creation back to its Source.
The Pink Flame of Compassion
The Pink Flame radiates from the left side of your heart's threefold flame. It represents unconditional love, compassion, and beauty. This is the love that Yogananda described as 'a love that no human tongue can describe — millions of thrills passing through your heart.'
Two Types of Love
Yogananda taught us to distinguish between two forms of love:
Divine Love: Without condition, without boundary, without change — the pure expression of God's nature
The practice is to transform ordinary love into divine love by bringing God into your daily life, allowing the divine image within you to manifest.
Activating the Pink Flame
Morning Practice:
Visualize a soft pink flame glowing there
Feel its warmth spreading through your chest
Meditate deeply to experience divine love beyond words
Imagine this love radiating outward to everyone you'll encounter
Living from the Pink Flame
Throughout your day, practice these teachings from Padmasambhava and the masters:
Transform negative emotions (anger, jealousy, fear) into fuel for compassionate action
Look into others' eyes with love — not approving love, but the kind that recognizes their divine nature
Expand your love: start with those close to you, then extend it to strangers, then to all beings
The Greatest Love
The greatest love you can experience is in communion with God in meditation. When you meditate, love grows. In deep meditation, you can feel millions of thrills passing through your heart as divine wisdom reveals itself. This is not metaphorical — it is the actual experience of divine energy flowing through your being.
The Practice
Start each day asking: 'How can I reduce suffering today — mine and others'?' Remember that hurting others never heals your own wounds. Practice small acts of kindness without expecting anything in return. This is love in action — compassion manifested in the world.
Real love isn't just a feeling — it's a commitment to act with kindness even when it's difficult. When you align with divine love through meditation and compassionate action, you become a channel for God's unconditional love to flow into the world.
